Carefully disperse the "Carbopol" 941 resin in half the water, and then neutralize with the sodium hydroxide. Separately disperse the "Titanox" 1000 in the remaining water and add this slowly to the mucilage of "Carbopol" 941 resin. Stir to uniformity. Note: No settling was noted on aging but there was a tendency for the suspension to form a weak gel. This gel reverted to a fluid on very slight stirring and could be handled easily. It is readily diluted with water if desired. More typically, 0.15-0.20% "carbopol" 941 resin is required to permanently stabilize pigment suspensions.
