Visc.---Initial---ASTM D-3236 @ 250 F (121 C)---47,000 cps @ 275 F (135 C)---29,000 cps @ 300 F (149 C)---18,500 cps @ 325 F (163 C)---12,300 cps @ 350 F (177 C)---8,500 cps Visc.---Aged---after 32 h @ 300 F (149 C)---ASTM D-3236 @ 300 F (149 C)---20,000 cps Aged Appearance---After 72 h @ 300 F (149 C) ---Color change and slight sludge Penetration @ 100 F (38 C)---5.5 Softening Point---ASTM E-28---192 F (89 C) Note: Excellent hot tack. Very fast set-up time. Nonblocking. Can be extruded and pelletized. Adheres to cellophane, paper, aluminum, polyethylene, styrene, and many other packaging films. Adhesion to polypropylene is poor.
Uses: Preapplied heat-seal carton adhesive. May also be used as carton adhesive on the package closing machine.
