A water solution of polyvinyllpyrrolidone (0.005%) added to a liquor with stirring, followed by filtration with "Celite"" or other filter aid, gives a clear product which does not form a haze on chilling to 2-3'C. A similar amount and treatment works well with wine. For grape juice, 0.2% PVP is used, followed by 24 hours storage at 4'C. For beer, 0.01-0.02% PVP is added to the hot wort in the brewing kettle.
