Mash 3 parts ripe sour cherries and 1 part sweet black cherries.
Place in a wooden or earthenware container and add enough 90% ethanol to cover. Let it stand four to six weeks with occasional agitation, then put it through a filter press. Add 250 to 300 g of sugar to the liter and enough water to give a final content of 35-40% alcohol.
