The peanut oil and cottonseed oil are mixed with the salt at or below 145'F. Dry nitrogen is passed through the mixture for a period of time sufficient to remove any dissolved oxygen. The influx of nitrogen is stopped and, while the mixture is under a blanket of nitrogen, the remaining ingredients, i.e., lecithin, gallate, flavor, color, and vitamin A, are added and thoroughly blended by continuous agitation. While the blended product is under an atmosphere of nitrogen and at 130 to 140'F, it is passed through a "Votator," into which dry nitrogen is introduced so as to increase the volume of the product 11 to 12%. The product leaves the "Votator" at 40 to 45'F, is filled into containers, and sealed under an atmosphere of nitrogen.
