Basic Flavor Compounds of this type may be used in many ways. 1) They may be added to true fruit flavors in small ratio in order to fortify them. In such cases the finished flavor must be designated as an Imitation Flavor. 2) They may be used to make Imitation Fruit Syrups by adding 2 oz of the Basic Compound to three qt propylene glycol, one qt water and suitable amount of Certified food Color. Two ounces of this finished flavor is then added to one gallon of simple sugar syrup. 3) They may be used to make finished flavors for hard candy by adding from 12 to 16 oz of the Basic Compound to propylene glycol to make one gallon of finished flavor, and then using the finished flavor at the rate of 1.5 to 2 oz for 100 lb of hard candy Amyl Acetate/9.375 Ionone Alpha/3.515 Ethyl Acetate/18.750 Ionone Beta/4.687 Isobutyl Acetate/18.750 Benzyl Benzoate/26.958 Vanillin/7.030
