PVP/VA emulsion or solid copolymers may be sprayed on plants to prevent excessive transpiration and to prevent freezing during the winter months. Such formulations may also serve to prevent wilting of foliage during transplanting of ornamental plants, such as evergreen azaleas, rhododendron, and mountain laurel. A typical formulation consists of 1-5% (solids basis) PVP/VA S-630 or PVP/VA W-464 in water.
