Melt the cetyl alcohol and warm too about 95'C. Add the sodium lauryl sulphate with stirring, then add 6 parts of water with continuous stirring and hold at 110'C until frothing ceases. Cool to about 50'C, with stirring; add the liquid paraffin and the propyl p-hydroxybenzoate (Nipasol); and finally stir in a premixed solution of 1 part chloramphenicol (BP) in 69 parts of water. Cool with stirring. All parts given are by weight.
