These concentrates are made up by adding the solvent to the insecticide and then mixing in the emulsifier. For storage periods of over 3 months, it is recommended that they are packed in glass, aluminum-clad steel, or steel lined with a high-baked phenolic lacquer. "Aldrin" formulations, containing "Antaroxes" A-400, B-100, or B-290 at varying concentrations and in combination with various solvents, give emulsions having a wide range of stability. Formula 1 forms a clear colloidal solution which shows no signs of creaming for many weeks. formulae 2 to 6 give emulsions having a stability of over 3 days. For emulsions which break in 8 hours to 3 days, Formulae 7 to 11 are recommended. these stability characteristics hold true in hard or soft water.
