Do not mix the peroxide and promotor. Mix in the promotor only after
the peroxide is dissolved in the polyester. A violent reaction may occur
if the peroxide and promotor are mixed together first.
3. Polyvinyl Chloride
Exceptional color and brightness can be obtained with the Switzer
daylight fluorescent pigments in vinyl plastisols, organosols,
calendered film, and molded articles. Other pigments, especially the
opaque kind, and large amounts of fillers cannot be used with them
without serious loss of color and brightness.
The amount of fluorescent pigment required depends on the thickness of
the article or film, and on depth of color and degree of light-stability
desired. Content can range from 1% to 30%. The following table gives the
approximate minimum percentages for optimum color and light-stability:
