Blend ingredients slowly in order listed. This adhesive, based on butyl latex, is a starting formulation developed to anchor chain stitching ofr automotive upholstery. This type of stitching is more economical than conventional stitching. The compound performs well and may have additional applications as a general textile-seaming adhesive. The compound should be diluted with water to 20 per cent solids or less for longer shelf stability. The concentrated formulation, with approximately 65% solids, has a tendency to "set up" on long standing.
