Dilute 2.5 gal of 18' Baume commercial muriatic acid to 50 gal with cold water containing 6-8 oz "AEROSOL" OT-25% aqueous. Saturate the felt with this solution and then immediately rinse with cold water. Saturate the felt with a warm solution (100-120'F) of 15% soda ash and 4 oz AEROSOL 22 in 50 gal of water, and then rinse with warm water. This procedure is recommended particularly for felts contaminated with high concentrations of calcium, magnesium, and iron salts.
