"Catanac" SN may be applied to resins and plastics either by incorporation into the molding composition or by surface application. For example, polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, or polyethylene pellets or beads may be soaked in a 10% solution of "Catanac" SN, dried, and then molded according to conventional methods. The molded article will be free of static charge and will retain the antistatic quality even after soap and water cleansing. "Catanac" SN also can be incorporated into calcium carbonate or other inert fillers commonly used with polystyrene and polyvinyl chloride. The finished products possess permanent antistatic properties. Concentrations of 0.5%-3% solids on the weight of plastic are recommended, depending on the static qualities of the plastic.
