Dissolve the ingredients in one cup (8 fl oz) hot water, add one cup cold water and chill. With minor modifications, this formula will be suitable for testing many other flavors. An interesting variation to explore is the use of malic acid. Tests have shown that in some formulas, optimum flavor results may be obtained with malic rather than citric acid. For testing purposes, malic acid should be used at about 80-90% of the usual citric acid level.
