Mix the ingredients in A. Separately make up the water solution for B. Add A to B slowly with high-shear mixing. Plasticizers lower film-formation temperatures of latex polymers. Further, temporary surface tack can be developed in a latex by adding fugitive plasticizers. Typical fugitive plasticizers are "Carbitol" acetate, n-methyl-2-pyrrolidone, butyl cellosolve acetate, and propylene glycol. These materials are volative and eventually evaporate when the latex is dried or fused. These fugitive plasticizers are ordinarily diluted to 25% with water and then added slowly to the latex to avoid any possible shock coagulation.
