Put dry "Geon" 121 resin, "Carbopol" 941 resin, and dry "Dythal" in a Hobart bucket. Use only "Dythal" powder, not paste. Start mixing and add blend of plasticizers. After plastisol is made and let down with remaining plasticizer, then deaerate. To the deaerated plastisol, stir in the "Ethomeen" C-25 and wait for complete viscosity development-approximately one hour. The resulting plastisol should have a Brookfield viscosity of approximately 500,000 cps at 2 RPM and 100,000 cps at 20 RPM. This gives a 2 RPM/20 RPM yield ratio of 5-to-1. A minimum ratio of 3-to-1 is desirable to effectively control penetration and strike-through.
