If mixer is equipped with a steam jacket, preheat jacket to approximately 200'F (93'C). Charge all "Geon" 140 resin to mixer. Mix at high speed until temperature of mix is 140-150'F (60-65'C). Add liquid blend (masterbatch plasticizers, liquid stabilizers, and pigment dispersions,if possible.) Mix well until dry point is reached. this should occur from 170-220'F (76-104'C). Polymeric plasticizers should be preheated to 120-135'F (48-57'C) before adding. Add other ingredients, such as fillers, lubricants, dry pigments, etc. Hold out drying resin. Drop mix from high-intensity mixer to a cooling mixer, such as a ribbon blender or other low-intensity, tumbling-type mixer. Drop temperature may depend on the plasticizer system; approximate temperature ranges are: 170-190'F (76-87'C) for monomeric plasticizers 190-220'F (87-104'C) for polymeric plasticizers Reduce mix temperature to 125'F (51'C) or lower. Add drying resin and thoroughly disperse. Due to the inadequate mixing action of some mixers used for cooli
