Dissolve the "Zonester" 85 and FA-1 in the mineral spirits. To this solution add the aqueous KOH with stirring to form a homogeneous dispersion. Then add the water to adjust the solids to 45%. This procedure results in an emulsion of moderate stability. If an emulsion with better storage stability is required, then the use of a high shear mixer is beneficial. Again, if better shelf life is required, 15 parts of a 10% ammonium caseinate solution may be used with the corresponding reduction in water.
