Casting Sieve the latex mix into the mold, taking care not to entrap air. Allow the filled mold to stand for the time necessary to build up the required deposit on the mold surface. (Topping up may be necessary during the standing period.) Pour the excess latex from the mold and allow the mold to drain for a few minutes. Heat the mold (up to 90'C) to dry the product sufficiently to enable it to be removed without distortion. (NB-A greater degree of drying is necessary with unfilled mixes.) Heat casting at 100'C in hot air to effect final drying and/or vulcanization. the vulcanized casting is then ready for finishing. Finishing Where articles of one base color are required, coloring agents can be incorporated into the filler slurry before mixing. Where more than one color is desired surface finishes are applied by spray or brush. These finishes should be as flexible as the rubber itself. Plasticized cellulose lacquers are suitable for rigid castings, but more flexible finishes are required for s
