The base mix A is placed in the bowl and foamed to approximately six times the original volume of latex. Mixture B is added and the rate of foaming is reduced to refine the foam. At this viscosity the foam is suitable for spreading operations, and thicknesses of up to 5 mm are readily gelled. Gelation is preferably carried out in a hot air stream at 90'C. Drying and vulcanizing may then be carried out at any convenient temperature.
