Melt the waxes,m paraffin and fatty acid and add the KOH solution slowly and with little stirring, allowing it to react for 20-30 minutes at about 230-240'F. Then add the Methyl "Carbitol" and AMP. Agitate and adjust the temperature of the melt to 255'F. Pour the melt at 255'F into water at 205'F. Pour slowly, maintaining the melt temperature and agitating the water so that there is a minimum of foaming. Continue heating for 1-2 minutes while agitating, then reduce the speed of agitation and cool to maximum 100'F as quickly as possible with slow agitation. The wax base is best diluted to the final concentration of the floor polish by pouring it into the dilution water. The wax base is finally blended in the usual manner with alkali soluble resin solution and leveling agents, possibly with the addition of some polymers.
