Each mix should be prepared by adding the ingredients in the order listed in the formulation. Where the pH has to be reduced with formaldehyde (Formula Nos. 1 and 2 ), about 30 min should elapse after the formaldehyde addition before the remaining ingredients are incorporated. A heat-sensitive mix is handled in the normal way, but as it is affected by heat it must be kept cool (12-25'C) to prevent premature gelation. Certain mixes are also less stable to mechanical agitation than mixes used in coagulant dipping, and should not be strongly agitated for any length of time.
