for each of the three formulations, first heat the stearic acid and kerosene together until the stearic acid is dissolved (a temperature of around 40 C should be sufficient). next add the "igepal" CO-530 to this mixture. in a separate container, mix together the water, the propylene glycol, the "dowanol" DPM, the triethanolamine, the "igepal" CO-630. heat this second container to a temperature similar to that of the first, that is, around 35-40 C, and add the components to thiose in the first container with stirring. NOTE: formula No.1 is a waterless hand cleaner which is probably most suitable for dispensing from an aerosol container. formula No.3 is a gel, while formula No.2 is somewhat intermediate in viscosity between 1 and 3.
