brookfield visc, 20 rpm-18,000 mpas or cP pH-7.0 carefully desperse the "carbopol" 934 resin in the water and mix to a thin, cloudy dispersion without lump. add the sodium hydroxde and then the amine woth mild agitation. the dispersion will gel immediately. add the "dow corning" 200 fluid in a slow, steady stream with good mixing. a white, atable emulsion forms immediately. note: the emulsion contains 50% silicone oil and 0.5% "carbopol" 934 resin. lower viscosity, stable emulsions can also be prepared by using lower concentrtions of "corbopol" 934 resin and proportionately less neutralizing agent, or preferably, by using "carbopol" 941 resin and neutralizing agent. the formulation also works with the different viscosity grades of similar silicone fluids.
