α-methylstyrene/16 g
styrene/145 g
di-butyl peroxide/4 g
charge the isophthalic acid, trimethyloln ethane and one-half of
the "acintol" FA-1 tp a 2-1 flask and slowly heat to 260 C. maintain
this temperature until the acid number is less than 15 mg KOH/g and
them add the remaining "acintol" FA-1. reheat to 260 C and maintain at
this temperature until the acid number is less than 10 mg KOH/g. the
alkd is dissolved in xylene to give a solution habing 80 wt. percent
solids.

trimethylol ethane (technical grade)/242 g

copolymerization with styrene:
base alkyd (80% N.V.)/200 g

xylene/175 g
配制方法:
charge the alkyd and xylene to a 1-l flask and heat to 145 C. mix styrene, α-methylstyrene, and peroxide and add over a 2-h period to the alkyd solution. the temperature during the addition and for 5 h after should be maintained at 140-150 C.
