The aluminum stearate should be dissolved in the hot plasticizer before incorporating into the formulation. For less stiff plastigels or for dipping plastisols, lesser quantities of aluminum stearate may be used. Right after preparation, the plastigel may be tacky. This condition will generally be eliminated by overnight standing.
