All of the ingredients of the base are ground together in the pebble mill until the requisite grind is obtained. Good practice is to cut the resin in the mill first with the solvent, then add the pigments. A portion of the reducer can be held out and used for washing the mill. In the case of Formula No.1 (WP-1) the acid component is added only just before use. Formula No.2 is a one-package material, and the acid component may be added immediately after manufacturing. It is stable for at least one year.
