For a white color, white Portland cement can be used. This, however, has a tendency to darken when wet. If this is objectionable, then 5% of white pigments, such as "Titanox" or lithopone, can be added. Water repellents, such as calcium or aluminum stearates, may be added up to about 1%. These, however, are of questionable value. For colors other than white, normal Portland cement with sufficient tinting colors can be added. To use as a paint, add water to brushing consistency and apply. To use as a waterproofer, add water to a paste consistency and apply with a stiff-bristle scrub brush. Cracks and open joints should first be filled with a mortar grout. This point can be used on porous surfaces of masonry, concrete, stucco, common bricks, and masonry blocks.
