Mill mixing is often preferred because of the greater control it allows.
High factice levels can also cause occasional crumbling in internal

temperature may result in sticking. The following mix schedule has been
found satisfactory:

Disperse the zinc oxide in the rubber. Add stearic acid, accelerators,
sulfur, pigment, filler, and oil. Add the factice.

Erasers are generally either cured from calendered or milled sheet in
simple clamped molds in a steam pan or are extruded and then steam
cured. Press molding is also used. Molded erasers may be either
individually molded
