Inject 25% of the pore volume with anionic partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide at a concentration of 1500 ppm. Follow with an equal volume of 300 ppm Al^+^+^+equivalent to 10,000 ppm 3% aluminum citrate solution. A reservoir could require 1-5 million barrels of injection fluids. Aluminum citrate can be formulated as a dry blend of aluminum sulfate and sodium citrate or as a convenient solution containing 3% aluminum. Notes: A quick and convenient performance test for checking the crosslinking of polymers with liquid aluminum citrate has been designed by Miles Laboratories.
