Add the Veegum to the water slowly, agitating at maximum available shear until smooth. Add remaining Part A ingredients and heat to 75-80 C. Heat Part B with stirring, keeping benzocaine suspended, to 75-80 C. Add Part B to A and mix while cooling. Pour off at about 40 C. Consistency: High viscosity cream. Suggested Packaging: Tube. Note: Veegum is used in this formula for high temperature emulsion stability. The oil phase is designed to be bland and emollient with rapid, nongreasy rub in. Menthol is included for a slight cooling effect. The benzocaine suspended in the internal phase provides topical anesthesia. Combining the Syncrowax with the Arlacel emulsifier helps control softening at elevated temperatures.
