Casting of membranes from this type of solution, as well as the subsequent leaching, is carried out at room temperature. Because of this, highly reproducible membranes can be cast. These membranes have permselectivity with the added advantage of higher throughput rates. Room temperature casting also adds economy to the cost of membrane fabrication.
