Effective germ control usually requires quantities of "Baycovin" between 5 and 20 g per hectoliter, but quantities as low as 3 to 8 g/hl may suffice for aseptic bottling of thoroughly presterilized beverages as long as other hygienic requirements are strictly observed in the process. For added safety, the additive quantities determined in laboratory tests should be slightly increased in actual operations. It should be mixed thoroughly in beverage just before bottling.
