Automotive Parts Cleaners

配方组成:

These cleaners are used for removing grease, carbon and resin-like
coatings from automotive engine parts such as carburetors, valves and
other functional rods, gears, etc. It is current practice to lower the
parts to be cleaned into the cleaning solution in an oversized 5-gal
pail, using a perforated basket. Loss of the volatile ingredients is
kept to a minimum by a water blanket which floats on the heavier solvent
layer. Formulations therefore must contain sufficient chlorinated or
other heavier than water solvents to ensure that the specific gravity of
the solvent mix is appreciably heavier than water. An effort is being
made to replace the high-odor cresylic acid with other low-odor
solvents. The following formula can be taken as typical of this type of
product
Orthodichlorobenzene/20.0
25% Potassium hydroxide solution/0.4
Cresylic acid/20.0
Water for tall oil and alkali mix/5.0

配制方法:

Instead of using a tall-oil/alkali premix, the formulator can add the potassium hydroxide solution to the water and the tall oil to the solvent mix to give across-the-boundary neutralization.
