Light-blue or green pastel colors are popular for swimming pools. Formula 1 can be tinted to obtain suitable colors. Alkali-resistant pigments such as phthalocyanine blues or greens should be used for tinting. Formula 1 is also useful as a starting formulation to meet specification TT-P-95. This specification covers a self-priming paint for interior or exterior use on concrete swimming pools. In applying paints to swimming pools, cracked or scaling paint should be removed from the surface to be painted. Fresh concrete should be acid-etched or wire-brushed before painting. the paint should have time to dry thoroughly before filling the pool. Formula 2. is suggested for application to nonporous stucco, brick, and asbestos shingles, as both an interior and an exterior coating. This paint has sufficient alkali resistance for use on the above surfaces and adequate salt-fog resistance for seacoast exposures.
