The use of one to two parts per million of "Dow Corning" 200 fluid has corrected tearing, cracking, pulling, and laydown problems of certain troublesome asphalt paving mixtures. In this way, the expense of switching brands of asphalt, spreaders or grades of aggregate is eliminated. Another procedure: Mix one pint "Dow Corning" 200 fluid, 1000 centistokes viscosity, in five gallons of kerosene, gasoline, or diesel fuel. Add a minimum of one quart of this mixture to each thousand gallons of asphalt. This is equivalent to about two ppm silicone content.
