Methyl p-Hydroxybenzoate/0.10 Prepare a solution of the alkanolamide, lauryl sulfate and water. Add one at a time (dissolving each before the next is added) the citric acid, "Tegosepts", formalin and WSP X-250. The amount of citric acid used should be enough to neutralize the excess amine of the alkanolamide. Next, add the perfume oil. Some perfume oils will not completely dissolve at this point but will go into solution upon addition of the Tegobetaine C. The "Tegobetaine" C will complex with the lauryl sulfate causing considerable thickening. For this reason it should be added rapidly and with good agitation in order to disperse it completely before the complexing takes place. Air may get entrapped upon addition of the "Tegobetaine" C but will settle out on standing.
