Procedure Heat "Pamolyn" 330, ethylene glycol, and phthalic anhydride to 170'C using a gooseneck vapor line and CO2 blanket. Hold 170'c for 15 minutes and add benzoic acid, followed by pentaerythritol. Heat to 190'C, change to CO2 sparge, and hold 30 minutes. Heat to 210'C and hold for solid acid number of 15-20. Cool and pour. handling at this point will depend on subsequent procedures because the product will be semisolid.
