The linseed fatty acid, the phthalic anhydride, the himic anhydride, the glycerol, and the xylene are charged into the reaction kettle and heated. 230'C is the appropriate esterification temperature. When the acid value has gone down to 20 or less, the reaction is stopped. After the resin has cooled off, the mineral spirits are added to dilute the resin until a solid content of 50% has been reached.
