Undesirable foaming encountered in using 15-cp and 50-cp aqueous solutions of methylcellulose is stopped within several seconds by a 1 to 10,000 addition of "Foamex." Where the methylcellulose solutions are under constant agitation, doubling the concentration of "Foamex" to 1 to 5000 stops foaming instantly.
