Overflow rinse continuously feeding plenty of fresh cold water in the first compartment. (This will remove the bulk of unfixed, loose dyes, thickeners and other chemicals used.) Rinse with warm (120-140'F) water in the second compartment, again feeding fresh water continuously to prevent dyestuff and gum accumulation in the washbox. Use 3 soaping compartments containing 2-5 g/l "Tanaterge" 905 plus 2-5 g/l soda ash at 120-150'F. Additions of Tanaterge 905 and soda ash ae made periodically using the foam level in the soaping compartments as a guide. Where available, a continuous overflow and replenishment system is effective. Rinse goods thoroughly with hot (160'F) water in the last compartment.
